Emily G. Hannigan, Esq.

Emily was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, and is a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan.  She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and the University at Buffalo Law School before moving to Delmar, New York.

Emily serves as general counsel to trade associations, professional associations and nonprofit organizations, guiding them in governance, operational, and employment-related matters, as well as advocacy before legislative, regulatory and judicial bodies.

Before joining the firm, Emily represented public sector labor unions in matters involving members' terms and conditions of employment, including the negotiation of statewide collective bargaining agreements, disciplinary arbitrations, contract grievance arbitrations, improper employer practices before the New York State Public Employment Relations Board, administrative hearings before the New York State Justice Center and the New York State Division of Human Rights, as well as related litigation matters in New York State and Federal courts.  She has also counseled and trained hundreds of public employees and union leaders on their rights under the Taylor Law and their respective collective bargaining agreements.  Early in her career, Emily also represented individuals in claims for personal injuries in New York State and Federal courts.

While in law school, Emily gained valuable experience as part of the University at Buffalo Law School's Trial Advocacy Program and served as a coach in the program after graduation.  She enjoys cheering on the Buffalo Bills with her husband, Tim, and her son, James.
